Turmeric Flower
Turmeric is a member of the Ginger family and is one of about three edible gingers from the 50 plus varieties of Ginger that grow here in the tropics. We must have the ideal climate here at Hana Farms because this plant grows like a weed!

We have several large beds of Turmeric in the Hana Farms garden as well as many separate clumps scattered around the land that seem to just be growing wild. In the vegetable garden we use peanut grass, an excellent nitrogen fixer, in all our pathways and surrounding every bed (as seen in the image above).
